I am a grubmaster

I was the grubmaster at this Scout Campout and I made a giant pot of chili with hot dogs for dinner with donuts for dessert.  The sad part was that not many Scouts came to the campout.  In the morning, for breakfast, we made eggs, bacon, and fried potatoes with milk and juice to drink.  We made sandwiches, apples, and a bag of chips for lunch.

Fun at Camp "We'll Do It Tomorrow"

These are my Scout leaders, Brother Ashe and Brother Wright, the Scoutmaster.

In the Indian Lore Merit Badge class, we are learning how to beat on the drum.

We also learned how to hunt Beavers.
Joseph, my brother, did NYLT, which was leadership training with Josh and KB.

Just chillin' at camp with my friends.

Fishing was not my favorite merit badge because we only went fishing on two of the five days.  On one of the days it was only for five minutes.  We nicknamed the Camp "We'll Do it Tomorrow."

On the next day that we actually fished, we did net fishing because the alligators were eating all the fish so it was difficult catch them with poles.  We used a net because it made it easier and quicker to catch two different kinds of fish, which was required for the merit badge.

These are called baby brim and baby bass.

I was lucky, while net fishing, to catch a bigger fish.  The sad part was that Cade knocked it out of my hands and it swam away.

Food you do not want to eat

Two people from each troop has to help at the cafeteria to serve food.  This is my turn.

The food at Camp Shands is terrible cafeteria food.

The most delicious meal served in the cafeteria was pizza.  All the other meals were gross.

The funnest place to be at Camp Shands was the Trading Post because we finally got to eat food that tastes good.

Our troop was tired of eating Camp Shands food, so we ordered pizza and had a huge watermelon.  It tasted delicious.

Swimming with the Gators

I had to earn my Swimming Merit Badge in a lake infested with gators.  I saw ten gator traps out in the lake.  You are probably questioning why they would have us swim here.  Answer:  they are too poor to build a pool.

 Doin' the backstroke.

I am making a floatation device out of my shirt.

We are getting ready to do the BSA swim test.

We are practicing in our PFDs to get the merit badge.

Camp Shands

This year great opportunity to go on a week campout at Camp Shands in Florida.  It wasn't as good as Camp Woodruff last year.

Here is my Dad, my friend Ricky, and me sitting in our tent.

Here is our Troop 616 and 422 campsite.

These are some of my friends at Scout Camp:  Me, Ricky, Connor, and Aidan.
